The 95th Academy Awards take place on Sunday, March 12 – two weeks earlier than last year, which was delayed in part because of the Winter Olympics, but still a bit later than its traditional late February airing. As long-time Oscar watchers on this side of the Pond will know, it’s not an early night for UK viewers. It all kicks off at12am on Sky.
Reportedly, all of 23 Oscars will be given out on-air this year, after an ill-received decision to truncate the ceremony by dishing out some of the technical categories off-air.

As per the Academy’s own handy list , the telecast is showing live on Sky UK and other Sky-adjacent stations (NOW TV, Sky One, Sky Living etc). Basically, you’ll need to have Sky or at least, have an insomniac neighbour who does.
Last year, hosting duties were split between a host of famous faces. This year it’s back to a solo compere: US talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel, back for his third hosting gig (he also did the 2017 and 2018 shows). He’s a trusty and reliable pair of hands with a nice line in Hollywood baiting and an entertaining faux-feud with Matt Damon.
